Few places boast Olympic-sized adventures. However, Utah’s winter offerings give you the opportunity to experience adventure from the viewpoint of an elite athlete. Some of the best downhill skiing in the Southwest can be found on the state’s diverse resort terrain. While the Olympic crowds are long gone, these manicured slopes provide ample opportunity for a little healthy competition. Experience the slopes of the giant slalom on CB’s Run at Park City, test your bumps on Champion’s moguls at Deer Valley or check your Super-G need for speed on Grizzly Downhill at Snowbasin.

The Winter Comet Bobsled is a thrilling ride that provides break-neck speed under the supervision of a qualified professional. With four to five times the force of gravity whipping you around multiple turns at up to 70 mph, the Comet will satisfy even the most extreme adventurers. For the more independent thrill-seeker, the park offers Rocket Skeleton rides that hurtle you down the bobsled run at up to 50 mph — lying facedown on a sled with ice inches from your face.

If you’ve always wanted to fly, ski jumping is available for those with prior experience. Or if spectating is your thing, feel the rush of watching someone soar through the air, 20 feet above a field of white snow.
